Foodie Mountain Retreat

Experience true Swedish wilderness living, including the art of 'fika', in the mountains of Jämtland

Unwind and unplug from daily life and get back to basics on this foodie mountain retreat in Sweden. You'll discover that, if you know how to live in tune with nature, 'basic' can be luxury!

Go snow-shoeing or hiking and fishing with our local guide before retiring to our remote, off-grid cabin for a feast of local produce prepared for you by a private chef.

Relax, soak up the silence, and immerse yourself in traditional mountain life.

Ellen

the local EXPERTS BEHIND

Foodie Mountain Retreat

Ellen, Sofie and Lena have worked closely together to create this rejuvenating, off-grid adventure in the north of Jamtland Harjedalen. Ellen, our in-destination local partner, moved to Funasdalen in the west of Harjedalen six years ago and describes her local area as a place full of wonderful people, good food and never-ending adventure. Sofie, your hiking guide, has been exploring these mountains her whole life. They are her home, and she wants you to feel home here too. Lena is driven by her passion for sustainability and the relationship between Jamtland’s food and its people. Lena’s cooking celebrates the mountains, forests and lakes you will be exploring.

We are proud to work with local partners and members who share our passion for slow adventure, sustainability and regeneration. With help and recommendations from Ellen, Sofie & Lena, we have a number of conservation projects in Jamtland Harjedalen that you can support by booking with Slow Adventure.
